We were delighted to take part in Beamish Museum’s annual Flag & Empire weekend in May 2017. Alongside many of our friends from the mini police, run by Durham Constabulary, we proudly paraded our flag around Beamish town and pit village. The parade was introduced in 1902, at the end of the Boer War, to remind children and young people of their duties as British citizens. Making a positive contribution and helping others is something we still foster in our pupils today.
