Welcome to our wonderful nursery, where the journey through our school truly begins. Our nursery children have lots of fun, and we learn many new skills in exciting ways and spend a lot of time forming relationships with the other children in school, including our special friends in Year 5.
Miss Charlton, Miss Kirton and Miss Cairns are our nursery teaching staff.
We have a friendly, welcoming indoor and outdoor classroom, which supports our learning through exploratory play. We love helping our youngest members of the school to develop and learn in a fun way. Additionally, we teach forest schools in our exciting woodland classroom.

Communication Friendly Setting
We are now an accredited Elklan Communication Friendly Setting (CFS). This is awarded to schools and preschools that have trained and supported all their staff in communication and language development.
Here at West Rainton Primary School we are delighted that our Early Years have been recognised for the support we provide our children to become effective communicators and the strategies that we have developed across the setting.
